WASHINGTON – Wyeth will return its Proheart 6 heartworm drug for dogs to the U.S. market with restrictions to minimize side effects, U.S. health officials said Thursday.
The drug was withdrawn from the market in 2004 after reports of serious and life-threatening reactions, the Food and Drug Administration said.
“FDA is concurring with its limited return to the U.S. veterinary market under a risk minimization and restricted distribution program,” an FDA statement said.
