The State Allocation Board, which decides how to distribute money from California's Office of Public School Construction, has awarded $5.2 million to county public schools for upgrades and emergency repairs.
The school construction funds come from voter-approved state bond issues.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell, a member of the board, announced local awards yesterday.
For modernization projects:
Rolling Hills Elementary, Poway Unified School District, $1,576,742.
Pomerado Elementary, Poway Unified, $387,692.
Chaparral Elementary, Poway Unified, $2,133,745.
Standley Junior High, San Diego Unified School District, $984,962.00.
For emergency repairs:
Oceanside Unified School District, $63,720.
