The mountain formerly known as "Big Bear" was purchased by Snow Summit and is now dubbed Bear Mountain Resort, attracting a younger, snowboarding-and-freestyle crowd.
"The Park" at Bear Mountain is one of the world's only all-mountain terrain parks, complete with 117 jumps, 57 jibs and two half-pipes (including SoCal's only Superpipe). All this freestyle madness is the brainchild of this year's designer, terrain park expert Chris "Gunny" Gunnarson.
Bear is also home to "Geronimo," which is arguably the best run in all of Southern California.
