Driver dies after rear-end collision

CHULA VISTA – An 82-year-old man died Saturday after the Volkswagen Beetle he was driving was rear-ended by another car.

A red Saturn was moving fast when it hit the Beetle near the intersection of East J Street and Floyd Avenue around 2 p.m. The Saturn was moving erratically before the collision, according to the Chula Vista Police. That driver was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The killed driver was a Chula Vista resident. Police are investigating the accident.
