SAN DIEGO – A 32-year-old woman killed in a solo-vehicle accident on state Route 52 over the weekend has been identified as Shannon Maile McCue, the Medical Examiner's office said Monday.
McCue's body was found off eastbound state Route 52 west of Mast Boulevard just after 1 a.m., said California Highway Patrol officer Brad Baehr.
She had been thrown from her 2004 Nissan Pathfinder after the SUV ran off the road and rolled over, he said.
Investigators do not know what time the accident happened, Baehr said.
Officers who first arrived found the badly damaged SUV in the brush and originally thought the vehicle had been abandoned. They then found McCue's body lying in some brush, Baehr said. She is survived by her parents. The Medical Examiner said McCue had a Los Angeles address. The CHP said she was listed as being from Cardiff.
