LA MESA – Police arrested a 27-year-old woman and two men, ages 24 and 28, on suspicion of trying use a counterfeit $100 bill to buy a restaurant gift card.

The arrests were made at 4:50 p.m. Monday at Claim Jumper restaurant at Grossmont Center shopping mall on Grossmont Center Drive, said La Mesa police Lt. Dave Bond.

Restaurant workers called police after becoming suspicious about the bill, Bond said.

Bail for the two men was set at $10,000, and they were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in El Cajon Superior Court.

Bail and arraignment information was not available Tuesday for the woman.
