SAN DIEGO – A suburban San Diego housewife who was arrested 32 years after she escaped from a Detroit-area prison is back in Michigan to serve at least five-and-a-half years on drug charges.
Susan LeFevre arrived at the Robert Scott Correctional Facility in Plymouth Township Tuesday. The prison, located about 20 miles west of Detroit, is across the street from the Detroit House of Corrections – the prison LeFevre walked away from.
The 53-year-old mother of three was arrested April 24 outside her Carmel Valley home.
LeFevre was housed at the Las Colinas Detention Facility in Santee until May 7, when she boarded a bus run by a private extradition service.
Her lawyer plans to ask Michigan's governor to commute her sentence.
