EL CAJON:The El Cajon Police Department has launched a new Web site with information about crime prevention and department programs.
The Web site, elcajonneighbors.org, also includes an e-mail alert list that allows subscribers to receive information about crime prevention. It also includes a blog where users can discuss community issues.
Other links on the Web site include information about setting up a neighborhood watch program, graffiti removal, and a program designed to reduce crime and drugs at apartment complexes.
Alpine club seeks preservation help
ALPINE:The Alpine Woman's Club is asking the community to help preserve Alpine's Town Hall building, built in 1899, by purchasing a commemorative tile to be displayed along the building's new access ramp.
Tiles are 4-inches square and will be designed and personalized by local artist Annie Norton.
The Alpine Woman's Club acquired the Town Hall in 1932. The historic site has housed graduations, dances, weddings, and Red Cross events during World War I and II.
Tiles are $250 each.

Church features show on soldiers
ALPINE:An original show about soldiers and their families, titled “War & The American Soldier,” will be presented at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 1460 Midway Drive, Alpine.
Rod Galloway, producer, is also the show's main performer.
