VISTA: Three men tied up a store owner and two others before robbing the business yesterday, authorities said.
The combination jewelry store and hair salon is on North Santa Fe Avenue near Orange Street.
One of the robbers bought a calling card at the business about 9:30 a.m., then returned an hour later with a silver handgun and tied up a clerk and the salon's owner with duct tape, the Sheriff's Department said.
A second robber with a black handgun tied up a third victim with duct tape, authorities said, while a third robber put jewelry into a black plastic bag. The three left with the jewelry, an undisclosed amount of money and two cell phones taken from the victims.
Authorities said the first robber was described as a Hispanic man, 6 feet tall, 200 to 220 pounds and 30 to 40 years old. He wore a black sweater and blue jeans.
The second robber was described as a Hispanic man, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches and 165 pounds. He wore a gray sweat shirt and beige pants.
The third robber was described as a Hispanic man, 20 to 25 years old, wearing a gray sweat shirt. –M.R.
