An Escondido man killed in a weekend accident near Temecula has been identified as Edward Leon Radzus, 57.

Radzus was driving on state Route 79 on Saturday when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle for an unknown reason and rolled down an embankment at 11 a.m., according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.

He was thrown from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene. –K.D.
