ESCONDIDO – Police and probation officers arrested 13 people with a history of methamphetamine use during a probation sweep Wednesday, officials said.
Eight were charged were new felonies, including six for drug possession, while the rest were arrested for probation violations or for failing to maintain contact with probation officers.
Officers confiscated four grams of meth, one gram of cocaine, 3.75 ounces of crack cocaine, knives, a machete and other items during the raids.
The goal of the periodic sweeps is to send a message that probationers will be held accountable to court conditions, a county spokesman said.
