Solana Beach to decide whether to have election

SIGNONSANDIEGO

7:36 a.m. August 20, 2008

SOLANA BEACH: The City Council will meet tonight to consider whether to hold an election in November. The three incumbents up for re-election – David Roberts, Lesa Heebner and Joe Kellejian – were the only candidates to qualify for the ballot by the Aug. 8 deadline.

The council will have a choice of holding the election at an estimated cost of $10,000, or simply appointing the three incumbents.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 635 S. Highway 101. –T.M.

Staff writers Michele Clock, Steve Schmidt, Tanya Mannes, Onell R. Soto and Bruce Lieberman contributed to this report.
