TURIN, Italy – The United States won't get shut out of Olympic figure skating medals for the first time in 70 years, and for that it can offer gratitude to two of the least likely sources.

SESTRIERE, Italy – Best in the world, huh? More like a crashing bore. In lieu of anything gold, silver or bronze, you wanted to pin a medal of some lesser metal on Bode Miller and Erik Schlopy just for finishing both giant-slalom runs yesterday, which is more than you can say for the rest of a U.S. Ski Team that simply cannot get over itself at the XX Winter Olympics.
