THE SKINNY

Wolf is 0-3 with an 8.55 ERA in his past four starts and is coming off his worst start of the season Monday in Chicago (four innings, seven runs allowed on eight hits) This will be Wolf's fourth straight start on the road (1-2, 6.35 ERA).

Wolf's downfall has been the big inning. He has had four innings this season in which he has allowed three or more runs, including a six-run inning Monday at Wrigley Field and a five-run inning on April 25 vs. Arizona.

Wolf has never faced the Mariners.

Bedard is 1-2 with a 3.57 ERA since coming off the disabled list (hip inflammation) on April 26. He is 5-1 with a 1.93 ERA in interleague play and beat the Padres the only time he faced them, last June 21 while with Baltimore (six innings, two runs, five hits). Bedard, who was 28-16 over the past two seasons with Baltimore, was acquired by Seattle on Feb. 8 in a five-for-one trade.
