Microsoft, Yahoo resurrect talks

SAN FRANCISCO – Microsoft Corp. is once again trying to team up with Yahoo Inc. to challenge Internet search and advertising leader Google Inc., although at this point the renewed talks haven't escalated to another attempt to take over Yahoo.

    $4 gas looms as problem for some pumps

    Older equipment can't register prices, is expensive to fix

    REARDAN, Wash. – Mom-and-pop service stations are running into a problem as gasoline marches toward $4 a gallon: Thousands of old-fashioned pumps can't register more than $3.99 on their spinning mechanical dials.
