Inyo County Sheriff's Department investigators searched yesterday for evidence at Barker Ranch in the Panamint Mountains west of Death Valley National Park. A dig for possible clandestine graves at killer Charles Manson's last hide-out that started Tuesday was called off a day early after yielding no bodies and leaving scientists puzzled over the clues that had enticed them to come this far.
