Feinstein wants limits on automated phoning

When a candidate asked Sen. Dianne Feinstein to record a message for an automated campaign phone call, she was happy to oblige.
Then the complaints started.
“I had hundreds of phone calls from people who said, 'How dare you call me at three o'clock in the morning,' ” the California Democrat told a Senate hearing in February.

When friends, family and tourists arrive from out of town, they expect warm, sun-splashed days. But “gloom” can be a common weather adjective during San Diego's late spring.
Some of us find ourselves apologizing to sun-starved visitors, as KUSI-TV weatherman Joe Lizura did on the air last week when clouds and rain meant a bleak Memorial Day weekend.
