    Yesterday: In the day's only final, Shalane Flanagan pulled away from Kara Goucher on the final lap to win the 10,000 meters in 31 minutes, 34.84 seconds. Amy Begley held on for the third spot on the Olympic team. Alicia Shay, whose husband, Ryan, died in the marathon trials, withdrew from these trials with an injury. Flanagan, 26, won the U.S. Cross Country Championships at Mission Bay earlier this year.
