Gospel Festival

The fourth annual Gospel Festival at the San Diego County Fair will take place at 10 a.m. when the gates open today. More than 30 gospel artists will perform on four stages, with Tye Tribbett and G.A. and Byron Cage on the Grandstand Stage. A group sales order form for unlimited fair admission tickets and other discount fair admission and ride tickets is available in the Tickets & Promotions section at sdfair.com.

PowerPoint presentation SDSU Anthropology professor Seth Mallios will present “Nate Harrison, Born a Slave, Died a Pioneer” at 2 p.m. today at Christ United Presbyterian Church, 3025 Fir St. Harrison, a former slave, was a pioneering resident of San Diego County. Mallios and his students have been working to excavate the Palomar Mountain site that was the home of this legendary pioneer. The program and reception will be in the Fellowship Hall. Religious play Common Ground Theatre presents “Awaiting Judgment,” a play by Art Cribbs, at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at First United Methodist Church of San Diego, 2111 Camino del Rio S. The play presents an imaginary conversation between Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Martin Luther King Jr. Admission and child care free; meet the author. For information, call (619) 297-4366.

Choral concert The Elm Street Girls' Choir (Rebecca Rosenbaum directing) from New Haven, Conn., will perform at All Souls' Episcopal Church at the 10:15 a.m. service and at 4 p.m. tomorrow. The church is located at 1474 Catalina Blvd. Concert donation: $5. Information: (619) 223-6394, ext. 13.

Support group The Rock Church is offering a support group for individuals suffering from domestic violence or sexual assault from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at 2277 Rosecrans St. Security will be provided. Call (858) 413-6063 for more information.

Membership coffee The Humanistic Jewish Congregation offers an opportunity to learn more about Humanistic Judaism at their membership coffee today from 10 a.m. to noon at the meeting room of the Carmel Valley Library, 3919 Townsgate Drive. Aglow North County meeting Aglow North County San Diego will feature guest speaker Earl Clampett Jr. at their meeting from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 5 at Hope United Methodist Church, 16550 Bernardo Heights Parkway. Clampett is a current judge and former attorney with a combined legal career extending nearly 30 years. A complete breakfast is available for $6.50. Xtreme Biking exhibition The Church at Rancho Bernardo invites the community to a free one-time Xtreme Saturday event from 4 to 5 p.m. next Saturday. BMX and X-Games champ Vic Murphy and his team of BMX athletes will perform aerial stunts in the church parking lot. Afterward, meet Vic and his team and enjoy an Xtreme Ice Cream Mixer.
