    ESCONDIDO – Four people have been arrested and police are seeking a fifth suspect after two separate homicides in Escondido over the weekend. Three teenagers were arrested Sunday in the fatal shooting of Eduardo Aranda, 15, early Saturday, Escondido police said. Osiel Reyes, 18, and two juveniles ages 16 and 17, all of Escondido, were taken into custody, Lt. Bob Benton said.

    Dead Marine identified as crewman from Virginia
    CAMP PENDLETON: – A Marine found dead Saturday evening in Area 27 of Camp Pendleton has been identified as Sgt. Sean K. Webster, 23, of Fairfax, Va. Webster was an assault amphibious vehicle crewman assigned to Wounded Warrior Battalion West on the base north of Oceanside. He joined the Marines in September 2002 and earned numerous awards, base officials said.

    SAN DIEGO: – Three people have been arrested in connection with a series of wallet thefts at shopping malls, police said yesterday. At least 10 women were victimized over a four-month period, and investigators say they hope more victims come forward.

    Charles Parkhurst; Tracked down art looted by Nazis; 95
    Charles Parkhurst, a museum director in Baltimore and Washington and one of the “monuments men,” an Allied Forces team that chased down leads, pried open crates and snooped around museums, salt mines and castles in search of art stolen by the Nazis during World War II, died Thursday at his home in Amherst, Mass. He was 95.

    Master Japanese drummer Daihachi Oguchi, who led the spread of the art of “taiko” drumming to the United States and throughout Japan, has died after being hit by a car, an official at his ensemble said. He was 84.

    Dody Goodman, an actress who combined a dancer's grace, a strawberry blond mane and exquisitely timed scatter-brained humor to create television legends, first as a fey foil to Jack Parr and later on the soap-opera parody “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman,” died June 22 in Englewood, N.J. She was 93, older than she often said.
