Cook has given the Padres trouble over the years. He is 9-3 lifetime against the Padres with a 2.60 ERA. Cook, who is 46-40 lifetime, has more wins against the Padres than any other team. He beat the Padres earlier this season at Petco Park, allowing one run on three hits over seven innings.
Cook reached 10 wins faster than any pitcher in Rockies history, No. 10 coming in the team's 69th game. In 2003, Shawn Estes got his 10th win in the Rockies' 73rd game.
Banks will be facing the Rockies for the first time in his sixth start for the Padres. He has lost his past two outings and is coming off his only start in which he allowed more than three runs (four runs on seven hits in 5-1/3 innings against Minnesota).
