School board must weigh Acle's fate in public

On Monday the San Diego Unified School District board plans to retreat behind closed doors to discuss the fate of trustee Luis Acle, who was fined $75,743 by the city Ethics Commission for widespread violations of campaign finance laws in his failed bid for a City Council seat.

      At a recent Coastal Commission meeting, reason prevailed, an event worth noting – and repeating whenever “in-lieu fees” come before the panel. They came up for the city of Oceanside last year when it sought commission agreement for renovation and development of coastal-zone hotels.
