Few questions hounding team stacked with returning players

This might be the most boring training camp in Chargers history.
Other than waiting to see if some key players will be healthy enough to start the season and who will play some fill-in roles, there just isn't a lot of intrigue for a team that advanced to the AFC Championship Game six months ago.

PITTSBURGH – The Padres required no antacid tablets after their latest defeat. There were no blown leads to bemoan, no failed tactical moves to ponder, no twists and turns that left them spent.
Deviating from their recent past, the Padres never made a game of it and lost to the Pirates 9-1 last night to open a four-game series in Pittsburgh's waterfront ballpark.
U.S. bracing for physical, macho hoops
LAS VEGAS – The court is a stride shorter. The three-point shot is a yard closer. The ball is slightly smaller in circumference. The paint requires a little more paint. Geometrically speaking, Olympic basketball involves different dimensions than the game first standardized on these shores, plus the quadrennial rush of being able to invoke the word “trapezoidal” to describe the shape of the lane.

La Jollan strokes his way through 30 miles of ocean

Marc Lewis swims from Santa Rosa Island accompanied by one of three kayakers who make the trip with him. Then the La Jollan turned toward his escort boat 200 yards offshore and thrust his right arm skyward. “I've made it,” said Lewis, recalling his initial reaction 13 days ago after completing an estimated 30-mile swim from Santa Rosa Island to Goleta, just north of Santa Barbara. “It's over.”
